Philosophy on Criminal Prosecutions
Joe is a principled and common sense prosecutor with nearly 20 years of experience. He has prosecuted hundreds of serious felony cases including murder, rape, and robbery. In addition to being an experienced trial attorney, Joe has developed a reputation for consistency and fairness.
Violent offenders who target and victimize the vulnerable have no place in a safe and stable community. At the same time, correcting behavior, as opposed to punishing conduct, is often more productive for both the offender and society at large. Joe understands the importance of providing treatment to those struggling with substance abuse addictions. He appreciates the need to link those afflicted with mental illnesses to services offered by trained clinicians. He acknowledges and seeks to address the barriers that poverty, unemployment, and homelessness present to those offenders seeking re-entry and reintegration back into our community.
Joe believes that the job of Commonwealth’s Attorney is one that requires experience, integrity, and innovation. If elected, he will bring a balanced and common sense perspective to the job. He will keep our community safe by holding those charged with crimes accountable in a thoughtful and deliberate manner. At the same time, Joe will take every step possible to promote rehabilitation and assist offenders who wish to become positive and productive members of society.
Joe hopes to earn both your support and vote on November 7, 2017. Please contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or suggestions.
“Law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice, and when they fail in this purpose they become dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress.”
—Martin Luther King Jr. 1929-1968
